Double Challenges!

Hi All,

I've been so busy and haven't had time to blog! I am so slack! The joys of parenthood I guess! Anywho the card I have to share is using 2 challenges rolled into one! I made it last week and haven't had time to upload it so I have missed the cut off for one of the challenges but am happy with the card anyway so I thought I'd share it.

The first challenge I used was Makeesha's Colour Challenge for last week, Here are the gorgeous colours...

And the second was last weeks Mojo Monday Sketch which i sort of changed to suit myself! Here it is below

Ink: Basic Grey, Basic Black, Versa Mark
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Basic Grey Prints DSP
Accessories: White Taffeta, Pretties Kit, Soft Subtles Brads, Dimensionals

Polished Baby

No it's not some strange form of torture for infants it in fact describes 2 cards I made recently. Last month at training our fearless leader Jayne showed us various techniques and ideas using reinkers. One that we learnt was the 'Polished Stone' technique. The way it works is you put rubbing alcohol onto a make up wipe then place a few dots of, your choice in a few colours, reinkers onto the wipe then dab the ink over glossy white cardstock until desired effect or amount of colour has been reached!

I made 2 cards using the same layout using different 'polished stone' colour combinations! Both cards are for babies. The Pink one I made for my fellow demonstrator friend Kylie Swain who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Emily, last week. The other is for just in case as I have a few expectant friends at the moment.

I really love how this technique gives a card something extra. It was so simple to do and lots of fun as long as you don't mind getting your fingers inky!

Stamp Set: Nursery Necessities, Polka Dot BG
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Gloss White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Basic Grey
Accessories: Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette Reinkers, Mat Pack, Regal Rose Grosgrain, Dimensionals, Scallop Edge Punch, Rubbing Alcohol, Make Up Wipes

Stamp Set: Nursery Necessities, Polka Dot BG

Makeesha Colour Challenge #13

Hi Guys,

This week i saw Makeesha's Colours this week I instantly knew what I wanted to do with them. Here are the colours that she gave us this week

I've been meaning to practice more with my brayer as I don't use it enough but really love the effect I get from it so I decided that these colours would be great for Brayering. I used the group of trees from the "Lovely as a tree" set and brayered to give a lovely moonlit night! Heres my final product...

Stamp Set: Lovely as a tree, Sanded BG
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive
Accessories: Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Brayer, 1 1/2" circle punch, Post It Notes, Dimensionals, Old Olive Brads, Mat Pack, Wide and Thin Choc Chip Grosgrain

Thanks for looking! If you want to know more details about how I made the card just let me know and I'll email you!

Cheers, Dani :)
